Cone 10 hand-built ceramic sculpture
This one-of-a-kind sculpture was hand built using traditional ceramic techniques and fired to cone 10 into a gas kiln for maximum vitrification and depth of surface. The piece has a combination of slab/coil/pinch methods to create an organic, tactile form that emphasizes texture.
Materials and process
Stoneware clay body, fired to cone 10 (approximately 2381°F / 1305°C) for durability and subtle coloration.
High-fire glaze suited for long-term display.
Care and handling
For display only. Although vitrified and stable, avoid exposure to extreme temperature change and prolonged outdoor weathering.
Clean with a soft, dry cloth or a lightly damp cloth; do not use abrasive cleaners.
Recommend a sturdy, level surface; consider museum putty for added stability if displayed in high-traffic areas.
